It has been a while since I asked the angels a question. When the earthquake happened in Haiti, I asked them (in my mind) if there was anything I could do to help, but before I could even write down the question, the answer came to me that I could suggest to Shane and also to Nick Cave and Bobby Gillespie that they record 'I Put A Spell On You' and give the proceeds to Haiti. Less than a week later we were in the studio recording it with Chrissie Hynde and Glen Matlock and Mick Jones and Paloma Faith as well and we got Johnny Depp to play guitar, it was amazing. It was actually much better than I imagined it could be, and there was even a video to go with it, which Johnny filmed himself for. Because the single sounds so good, it never occurred to me that the single might not sell very many copies, but it isnt selling as fast as I imagined it would. I wondered if this is because it is only available as a download, and quite a few people have said to me that they dont really do downloads and they prefer proper CDs or Vinyl. So I decided to ask the angels if they can help it to sell, and to raise money for Haiti.
Q. Is there anything at all that I can do to help this single to sell? Or should I not interfere?
A. Dearest one, we are delighted to resume contact with you! We are also delighted that you have taken the time to initiate this project, and that you have reached out to your fellow beings in this way. When events happen in your world which threaten human life, and which cause suffering, it can have the effect of generating fear, and feelings of helplessness, this we understand. Many of you prefer to ignore these situations, because you do not like to be reminded of the fear of your own mortality, and your own helplessness in the face of uncontrollable events. You ask the question 'Why is this happening? Why is life so frightening and unpredictable? And who decided that this should happen?' Perhaps you wonder if one day this kind of thing will happen to you
But if you do ask the question 'What can I do?' instead of the question 'Why is this happening?' you may arrive at ways in which you can reach out to your fellow beings and show them that somebody cares, that you are not ignoring them, that you feel some connection with your fellow beings, even if you have never met them. When you open your hearts in this way, you actually become bigger, in that your energy fields expand. You also begin to feel more courageous, bolder, more daring! Things begin to seem possible that perhaps had not seemed possible when you felt smaller and more afraid. Occasionally, we have witnessed what seem like super-human feats being accomplished in these situations when love for another outweighs feelings of limitation. When your hearts are open you find that you have more energy, more enthusiasm and that you can solve problems and overcome challenges more easily, and your enthusiasm becomes infectious, which is how you achieve results such as you and your friends have achieved in the making of this single.
There is a slight problem that can occur, however, in these situations and it can prove more challenging than the actual creation. That problem is the desire to control how other people react to your offering. In your case, you are now feeling a strong desire to 'make' other people download your single. Added to this is a desire to influence what happens to other people's singles. You want your one to be the most popular.
It is only natural that you should feel this way. The idea that your single should sell the most copies is, as you see it, a victory. And the idea that it should not sell is a failure. If people, especially people that you know, do not co-operate with you by buying the single, you feel that they are letting you down. You feel that they should buy it, that they are perhaps lazy or selfish if they dont.
It may be difficult for you to accept the possibility that other people have their own desires and priorities, that perhaps they have their own ways of showing that they care about the issues that you care about. But when you judge other people, or even situations and events as negative and wrong, you close your own heart, and lower your own vibration, making you less magnetic to the outcome that you desire and more magnetic to the outcome that you fear and do not desire.
Of course it is extremely helpful in any situation to imagine the outcome that you desire, rather than the outcome that you do not want. But pay attention to any feelings of trying to force the issue, or trying to force others to bend to your will. There is a delicate balance to discover between magnetising and forcing! Visualise the outcome that you desire in a joyful, relaxed manner, that allows for harmony with the Universe as a whole, and you will sense that you are no longer afraid that what you want to happen will not happen. You will feel a sense of non-attachment to what happens or does not happen, which, paradoxically, removes obstacles to your manifesting that which you desire.
